20 YEARS & HUNDREDS OF FAMILIES SERVED

Meet The Doctors at True North Chiropractic

Dr. Scott

Dr. Scott has been twice - awarded National Chiropractor of the Year, and is a university certified post graduate instructor. He combines his passion with his 20+ years as a practitioner, and is father to Colin, his 25 year old son, who suffered significant birth trauma and neurological injury at birth.

Through applying the clinical protocols developed over 20+ years, and by helping to found the world’s largest pediatric chiropractic training organization, Dr. Scott has become an expert provider for neurologically-focused, drug-free help for sensory conditions, ADHD, anxiety, seizure, and ASD concerns.

Dr. Anna

When Dr. Anna was growing up in western Tennessee, she didn’t have much knowledge about chiropractic care, but what she did have was a front-row seat to the struggles of loved ones battling addiction and a reliance on medication. She remembers, as a teen, questioning why people had to be so dependent on medications, and why natural healing wasn’t more common. The scene was set early on; she knew she had a role to play in changing this narrative.

Fast forward to her college years, life certainly threw its challenges at her. She began to see health issues creeping up as anxiety made its way into her life. She was in a constant state of fight-or-filght, and every day was an uphill battle. She experienced irregular heartbeats, night tremors, and even panic attacks. Her mind was always racing and fear was beginning to take over. She stumbled upon the world of chiropractic care. Initially skeptical, she soon realized it wasn’t just about back adjustments, but about addressing the nervous system as a whole. This holistic approach breathed a sense of calm into her life that medications never could. After receiving consistent neurological-based chiropractic care, and many prayers later, her anxiety slowly began subsiding and her associated symptoms disappeared.

Upon graduating from undergrad, it became clear that the Lord had led her down this path for a reason. She decided to attend Life University to become a chiropractor, and embarked on a mission to learn, but most importantly to share this gift with others. She felt compelled to serve and to show others that, with faith and a properly regulated nervous system, there is hope for healing. One of her biggest regrets is not finding chiropractic care sooner, which is why she is so passionate about introducing families, pregnant mamas, and the pediatric population to what neurological-based chiropractic care can truly do.

Dr. Jesse

Dr. Jesse was born and raised in northern New Jersey. Health never came easy to him. His passion for The Perfect Storm workshop and taking care of children stems from his own real life example. Dr. Jesse was that picky eating, over-stimulated, burnt out child who knew nothing but go, go, go. He was constantly sick and ultimately, his family would never figure out what was going on. They never received answers.

Dr. Jesse excelled in school despite his sensory struggles. In college he interned at a chiropractic office shortly before graduating, and saw firsthand how chiropractic care was changing people’s lives. It was a light bulb moment! Dr. Jesse knew that chiropractic care was the missing link to living life at full potential.

Upon graduation from undergrad, Dr. Jesse pursued chiropractic at Life University in Marietta, GA. It was here that he found his passion for changing the lives of kids and families. He sought out the mentorship of doctors at the largest pediatric practice in the country. Being able to help tomorrow's future get started on the right foot is what lights Dr. Jesse's heart on fire! It gives them the opportunities in all the areas that he struggled with!

Dr. Jesse is excited to bring his expertise to Northern Virginia, and help change the trajectory of families under his care!

Is There Hope? We Think So!

Meet Teddy

Mom had done all the research under the sun to help Teddy, who is diagnosed with level 3 ASD, to tame his sensory challenges. When she first walked in, she told us she wasn't expecting miracles. At the top of her goal list was simply more SLEEP for Teddy, AND herself! Sleeping through the night was not normal for Teddy, which meant it wasn’t normal for mom, either. For over 3 years, Teddy had woken up multiple times per night, and then struggled to get back to sleep. This routine was so normal, that when Teddy finally DID sleep through the night, Mom woke up at 3am anyway! Our entire office can easily recall the smile on Mom’s face the day she reported  to us that Teddy slept through the night for three days in row! 🙌🙌🙌 SO MANY moms report to us that they are literally going to loose their minds 😤 if their kiddos sleeping patterns don’t change! As we steadily continue to unwind the stress that is stuck in Teddy’s nervous system, we are witnessing definitive strides towards his parents next goals: connection and comprehension.  His parents long for him to live less in “his own world” and  to interact purposefully with the family.

Teddy’s normal was anxiousness, irritation and uncooperative. (Sounds way too familiar, right moms?) Teddy’s new ability to successfully regulate his emotions is pure joy. Now when he comes into the office, he is full of wonder and curiosity - not anxiousness and irritation - and he makes us laugh with his contagious laughter and smile.  His most recent milestones are playing with toys appropriately and interacting with parents and siblings!!! He is no longer alone in his own world. A month ago at an appointment Teddy even said “Da Da”, which was emotionally rewarding for everyone far beyond words!   Oh yeah (and this is normal) - Mom has seen changes even in things she did not think to mention at the beginning.  Teddy’s eczema is GONE, and his bowels are no longer runny.

Overwhelming, relentless, constant “FIGHT OR FLIGHT”.

That was the state of Teddy’s nervous system.  When the nervous system in “fight or flight” mode, it is in SO MUCH active distress that the brain struggles to calm down, even for something as essential as sleep. Our specific type of pediatric chiropractic care is able, through a combination of scan technology and adjustment protocols, to unwind nervous system distress and calm the fight-or-flight response in the brain. No more fight-or-flight monsters keeping your kiddos up at night, no more suppressed immune responses, no more chronic gut issues!  A nervous system that can finally rest, recharge, and renew is a PERSON that can be calm, problem solve, emotionally regulate, focus, excel at school, connect socially (not seeing themselves as different, bad or outsiders), and simply get off the struggle bus. Expect miracles. They do come!

We’ve had BIG smiles for Lilly recently!

If you’ve been following our social media, you may remember that in the early fall we celebrated Lilly because she surprised her family by finally wearing pants!

Now, Mom and Dad have even more to celebrate. Lilly’s sleep has dramatically improved recently! Lilly has consistently woken up at 2, 3, and 4 am every. single. night! With a hustling and bustling family, you can imagine how that would disturb not only her parents, but siblings too.

We were jumping for absolute joy when Lilly’s mom told us that she slept until 5:30! She may not be exactly where we’d like her to be yet, but we are well on our way!

Lilly is a perfect example of why our neurological scans are so important. We saw improvements in her behaviors AND her scans during her progress assessments. Despite her progress, there was one area that remained stuck due to a stubborn stressor preventing her “Brake Pedal” from being fully activated.

We switched up her adjustment technique and her nervous system instantly responded! The scans allow us to “check our work” and see how we can allow the nervous system to do exactly what it’s supposed to do: grow, heal, develop, and thrive.

Celebrating stories just like Lilly’s will never get old for us!

Please help us congratulate Sarthak! 👏

Please help us congratulate Sarthak! 👏

Like many families who come into our office, Sarthak’s mom attended our Perfect Storm workshop. She noted on her original questionnaire that her son, Sarthak, is on the Autism spectrum and is diagnosed with ADHD. She let us know that he had trouble focusing, would script often, and twitched with tics regularly. 😔

Like many of our Perfect Storm 🌪️ kiddos, Sarthak was born via c-section. 😩 The trauma that he experienced during his birth led him to being constipated, having reflux, and frequently sick as a baby. Sarthak grew into other sensory struggles as he got older.

We welcomed Sarthak into the office and measured where and how much stress was stuck in his nervous system. 📏 After a few short weeks of consistent care and working to activate his brake pedal, 🧠 Sarthak’s mom let us know of some monumental changes! 🙌

Sarthak was scripting less, his twitching decreased, and his focus improved! In fact, he made the honor roll this past marking period! 💯

The greatest thing that Mom told us is that Sarthak was handling family gatherings much better! He would normally act withdrawn with more people around, but recently he’s been able to stay included in family and parties! 🎉

One of our favorite words is connection. Connection with your children and family is everything we strive for! We’re appreciative that Sarthak’s family has given us the privilege of having him under our care ❤️

Meet Liam

Liam had been struggling with speech difficulties fairly early on in life. He struggled to make certain sounds and understand what he was being told. He was having trouble comprehending what was being said and fighting hard to figure out how to get his own point across! Can you imagine his frustrations?!

He had trouble regulating the BIG emotions that followed which led to lots of anger, emotional outbursts, and meltdowns. Liam’s mom also said that she noticed sensory processing challenges, balancing issues, and fine motor delays followed suit.

She found chiropractic care on a whim because her younger son was suffering from torticollis. Once she was in office, she learned how chiropractic care can help kiddos who are struggling, just like Liam, to pump the “brakes" and allow learning & development to kick in! Mom is now ALL IN and under care as well.  (Mom's of Perfect Storm  kiddos are so maxed stressed)

We’re so happy for this family to find solutions:

  • He doesn’t shut down and have outbursts anymore

  • His speech has improved and he is getting his words out

  • He has overall better emotional regulation

  • His balance has drastically improved

  • His overall mood is much better and he is happier!

Meet Annberlee

There are few things that we love to see more than children gaining their confidence! For Annberlee, it wasn’t always as easy as it has become. Annberlee’s family came to us because of her challenges with being a picky eater, defiance in school, and frustrations with sensory processing. We’ll never forget the sad moment at her initial consultation when Mom was describing how Annberlee was too scared to sleep in her room all by herself.

You see, many parents can read over those concerns and think they are “normal”. The truth is that yes, they are common, but certainly not normal! We took a deep dive into Annberlee’s case history and noticed signs of stress that could be causing dysfunction in her body hindering it to get into that place of calm and relaxation. We performed our neurological assessment and found that stress that was stuck within her nervous system. After that, the rest was history!

Annberlee’s family soon reported better nights of sleep and behaved better in school! The good news continued to roll in as we continued to unwind the stress that her body had held on to for her short, young life. Fast forward one year from when Annberlee first started and we are THRILLED to report that she is eating steak and chicken – something that would have seemed impossible a year ago! She did extremely well on her standardized tests in school, this year, and is now able to do the little things in life without giving mom a hard time – like brushing her teeth!

We’re so proud of Annberlee for fully committing to her plan and getting the results we knew she was capable of. Now, she is ready to thrive throughout the rest of her childhood while maintaining her progress with routine adjustments!
